Butterfly Pavilion: Aquatic Invertebrates
A new interactive installation at the Butterfly Pavilion
We have had so much fun working with the Butterfly Pavilion in the past, that when they approached us about creating another interactive exhibit, we were thrilled!
Visitors to the Pavilion engage with animated characters to learn about the things they can do today to ensure the health of our oceans in the future. They also learn about the important role aquatic invertebrates play in our daily lives. As part of the experience, visitors answer questions about how likely they are to take action to protect our oceans and it's many creatures.
They can even submit their email to receive more information in the future.
This feedback plays an important role in the Butterfly Pavilion's efforts to further engage and grow their audience. The results of the questions are tallied and staff at the Pavilion can easily analyze the data through a secure reporting interface.
The exhibit also features three exciting games to both educate and delight.
Treat or Trash challenges visitors of all ages to guide a hungry turtle as he looks for his favorite food of delicious jellyfish. Not everything in the ocean is edible, however, and deadly plastic bags can look a lot like jellyfish- so be careful! It's a serious message with a fun and engaging delivery.
In the Trash, Compost, or Recycling game, visitors have 30 seconds to place as many items as they can in the right bin. It's fast, fun, and informative!
Aquatic Fun Facts teaches kids and adults interesting facts about the cast of characters that make up the exhibit. Did you know the octopus is the smartest invertebrate and can even use tools to get food?
Check out the pictures and videos below to learn more about the project, or better yet, head over to the Butterfly Pavilion and play it for yourself!
